“I had a fulfilling career in aesthetics, two wonderful children, and a loving marriage with the man I was sure was my true soulmate; then I found the box in the closet.

I wrote this book as a method of healing, not only for myself but for anyone who has experienced loss."

Behind the story

I started this book 12 years ago.  Through many hours of silent reflection and many tears, I found writing this book  cathartic.

Now I’m proud to bring my story to print. I look forward to hearing your feedback, and about your own experiences…

Excellent in its execution and delivery. The tone and the pacing reflects the writer's profound shock and outrage on the one hand and then the slow dawning of reality on the other. A common 'phenomenon' and a useful reminder that people who are different need to be understood and listened to, not shamed and belittled for simply being themselves.

"Excellent writing. The tension building was expertly crafted to the point that I, too, wanted to shout at your husband! And then when you discover it a second time! I loved the descriptions as you take each item out of the box, your strength of feelings, and that of your husbands. The conflict is worked in magically as is the pacing."

"I enjoyed the book so much I read it in one day. I couldn't put it down. This book sheds a light on transgender issues and its effect on loved ones. It's so interesting to see the points of view of those closest. It is good to increase understanding, tolerance, and compassion. I learned a lot and I also have many questions which will motivate me to broaden my understanding further. I will be recommending this book to my friends. It is honest, sad, and cathartic."
